“Traci's easygoing style puts you in a comfortable state of mind. A warm and inviting voice colored by the depth of her soul. ”
— Kellye Gray
Traci Cooper Music
Some say she is the new kid on the Houston Jazz scene, and they're right - but that won't be the case for long. Born in Oklahoma, Traci Stone Cooper spent most of her life in Pearland, Texas, where she fell in love with music and joined the junior high choir. She stayed in choir throughout high school and on into college at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches where she found inspiration among her fellow musicians and teachers.
For 28 years, Traci taught in Texas in the Pasadena Independent School District. During that time, she sang with the Bay Area Chorus, on the praise teams of various local churches, with the Houston Community College Jazz Ensemble, and even had the opportunity to perform in Vienna, Austria.
Traci has now retired from teaching and released her debut album, Stepping Stone, to national and international acclaim. Traci can be heard on many Internet Jazz stations and at select venues in the Houston and surrounding area.
